The PADI Divemaster internship with Pocna Dive Center is an incredible opportunity that has the potential to change your life! Our divemaster training program is designed to:

• Enhance your leadership abilities, enabling you to supervise dive activities and assist PADI instructors with student divers.

• Prepare you towards becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

During your time with us, you will learn while working on the job, we will make sure that you gain valuable experience by:

• Assisting seasoned PADI instructors during training sessions at all levels, from Discover Scuba Diving to the Rescue and Specialty courses, as well as in “backstage” aspects of the dive professional’s role.

• Guiding certified divers of different abilities at different dive sites under varying conditions. 

• Conducting programs with real participants under our instructors’ supervision.

You’ll have a combination of self-study, classroom sessions, and in-water skill development sessions with our Pro Training Team instructors. However, a significant portion of your learning will come from shadowing our instructors and gradually taking on more responsibility as your divemaster training progresses.

COURSE STRUCTURE

We offer two tailored options for your Divemaster internship:

• FAST TRACK: A 14-day intensive training program, ideal for those who already have at least 50 logged dives and have completed all eLearning before starting the course.

• LONG RUN: A 28-day program with up to 25 fun dives, designed to help you meet the minimum requirements to start the course and earn your certification. If needed, you’ll have the option to extend for an additional two weeks to complete both participation and certification requirements

Both our DM internship options cover all the essential aspects, divided into several modules:

• eLearning: you’ll start the course studying on your own before arrival, in the comfort of your preferred environment and at your own pace, for a better learning experience.

• Practical session (14 to 28 days) including:

  • Basic compressor use workshop: learn how to use a compressor to safely operate it and fill your tanks.

  • Water Skills Development: Learn how to perform role model demonstrations of the 24 basic dive skills and refine your rescue skills in a Rescue Workshop.

  • Confined and Open Water Workshops: role-playing workshops during which you develop the knowledge and skills you need to assist instructors and conduct programs for certified divers;

  • Special dry and wet workshops: to give you a better understanding of how to perform complex skills such as lift-bag exercises, navigation and mapping, deep dive, and many more;

  • Instructor assisting and program conducting: you will assist instructors during real courses with real students and conduct programs for certified divers. You’ll be assisting at least:

    • One full Open Water Diver Course

    • One full Continuing Education Course

    • One Discover Scuba Diving program

  • And you’ll conduct at least:

    • One ReActivate program

    • One fun dive with certified divers

  • Up to 25 fun dives (LONG RUN option only): you'll be given the possibility to meet both participation and certification requirements with a two-week extension.
