COURSE DETAILS:
Achieving a new freediving time or depth is an incredible feeling, fulfilling the desire to do your best. The PADI Advanced Freediver course helps refine your skills and allows you to progress while learning how your body performs during apnea.
About the Course
Achieving a new freediving time or reaching a new depth is an incredible experience. It fulfils that personal desire to excel and take pride in your accomplishments. The PADI Advanced Freediver course is designed to help you refine and improve your freediving skills, allowing you to progress gradually while learning how your body performs during apnea.
The PADI Advanced Freediver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development: Learn about advanced freediving techniques and equipment. Study independently using the PADI Freediver eLearning program, or join instructor-led classroom sessions if eLearning is unavailable in your language.
Confined Water Session: Learn stretching and relaxation techniques and improve your static and dynamic apnea skills. Goals: Static apnea of 2 minutes 30 seconds (2 minutes for freedivers under 18) and dynamic apnea of 50 meters/165 feet (40 meters/130 feet for those under 18).
Open Water Sessions: Practice deeper free immersion, constant weight freedives, buddy procedures, and rescue techniques. Goal: Constant weight freedive to 20 meters/65 feet (15 meters/50 feet for those under 18).

Important Medical Information for Freediving and Mermaid Students
Freediving requires a certain level of health and physical fitness. If you have chronic medical conditions, are taking specific medications, or have recently undergone surgery, you may need written clearance from a physician before participating in any diving activities.
Please download and review the Diver Medical form before enrolling in a freediving or mermaid course to determine whether you'll need medical approval.
Please note: Instructors, Divemasters, and dive shop staff are not qualified to provide medical advice—only licensed medical professionals can assess your fitness for diving and provide medical clearance if necessary.
