At the tip of Manchones 2, you can find a breathtaking dive site that features a small shipwreck, which serves as a habitat for a diverse array of marine life. A gentle drift current will guide you over reef balls installed in 2005 to enhance the reef ecosystem.
Reef balls are artificial reefs made from concrete or plastic. They are designed to be porous and include various features that promote marine life, such as nooks and crannies, holes for water flow, and rough surfaces for coral attachment. These structures help create new reefs in areas where natural reefs have been damaged or destroyed, providing essential habitats for fish and other marine organisms and thus supporting local fisheries.
In this flat and open area, many marine animals have made these artificial reefs their homes. Turtles and rays are frequently spotted here, making it an ideal location for divers of all experience levels. The dive concludes at the vibrant Manchones reef.
