DIVE AGAINST DEBRIS

Since the first Project AWARE International Cleanup Day events in 1993, AWARE divers organized thousands of cleanups to protect underwater habitats and marine species. Cleanup dives from the past 21 years have been key in addressing debris issues on a global scale.

The annually Isla Mujeres Cleanup on Earth Day is an event coordinated by Acciòn Isla in cooperation with the local government, dive centers, businesses, and individual helpers get together to give back the so desperately needed service of collection, sorting and evaluation of debris to be found both on land and in the water. While there are other individual Dive Against Debris Events organized throughout the entire year, this annual event is by far the biggest and most effective.

Visit https://www.projectaware.org/ for more detailed information about the concept, international events and results of the united efforts of many helpers around the world.
