PADI AWARE
PADI AWARE is a global movement for ocean protection powered by a community of adventurers.
Since the first Project AWARE International Cleanup Day events in 1993, AWARE divers organized thousands of cleanups to protect underwater habitats and marine species. Cleanup dives from the past 21 years have been key in addressing debris issues on a global scale.
Here in Isla Mujeres, we are proud to be a part of a community that puts tremendous effort into keeping the beaches and oceans clean. Around the island are many groups that organize clean-up events that greatly impact cleanliness and are great for meeting other like-minded people.
Join the Dive Against Debris with a Diver Specialty course to discover how plastic and trash cleanups can benefit your local dive sites and aid in maintaining a global database that tracks our planet's marine debris issue.
You can also check our events page for dates and information on upcoming clean-ups and special events.
